GLT Productions Youth Company
Letting young people’s creativity shine.
Since 2003, the GLT Productions Youth Company (GLTYC) has been a vibrant part of the Halton Hills community, helping hundreds of young people learn what it takes to put on a show. The company has mounted 16 main stage productions, among them Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, Noel Coward’s Semi Monde, along with dozens of One-Act Plays and even an original work by one of our past members.
Mentored by experienced members from our GLT Adult Company, young people aged 10 to 18 learn about all aspects of theatre from the actor’s craft, writing, directing, stage managing to lighting and sound, makeup and more, all while building teamwork and leadership skills. Saturday morning workshops and events throughout the season help to further hone our youth members’ skills.
The whole point of the youth company is to have the kids do it. We want to create an atmosphere where youth feel included and listened to. If they want to do something, we’ll help them accomplish it.
