In September 2003, members of the Georgetown Little Theatre started the Georgetown Little Theatre Youth Company to fulfill the need for a community theatre group for youth in Georgetown. In the following years, the Company produced its first annual One-Act Play Festival produced entirely by the youth to give them a chance to showcase their own talents. They continued with their spring shows allowing the youth to work with more experienced members of the adult company.
The Company produced its first play, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in May 2004. In 2005 audiences were transported to the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina for the production of Dark of the Moon. The following year the company faced the challenge of turning the cast of 25 into a variety of insects in The Insect Play. In 2007 youth were busy creating the world of Narnia in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. In 2008 was The Georgetown Boys based on a piece of our own local history. 2009 brought The Mad Woman of Chaillot. 2010 – The Crucible 2011 – The Man Who Came to Dinner, 2012– Pride & Prejudice 2013 - Macbeth, Semi-Monde - in May 2015

On November 23-25 2017, the Youth One Acts (Y1As) will take place at the Studio at 7:30 P.M. with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on Nov. 25th.
As part of the continuing development of the GLT Youth Company, a series of workshops and other events are organized on Saturdays throughout the season.
